Privacy Policy
This website collects what you type into the contact form, and measures how the site is used. This page names every cookie that is set, who sets it, and how to refuse it.
Who we are
Purveyor Sports designs, builds, and runs data, AI, and technology infrastructure for teams, leagues, venues, brands, and technology companies. We are based in Chicago, Illinois, in the United States.
For the information described in this policy, Purveyor Sports is the controller: we decide what is collected and why. You can reach us about any of it at info@purveyorsports.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website, purveyorsports.com, and the enquiries people send us through it.
It does not cover work we do for clients. When we build or operate systems for a client, that client decides what data is collected and why, and our handling of it is governed by the agreement and the data processing terms we sign with them, not by this page.
What we collect
Three things, and the first is the only one you actively give us.
- What you send through the contact form: your name, your organization, your work email address, and whatever you write in the message. Those four fields are the entire form.
- What our hosting provider records in its server logs when a page is requested: an IP address, a browser user-agent string, the page requested, and the time. These are the ordinary logs any web server keeps, and we use them to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
- How this site is used: which pages a browser opens, in what order, and how quickly they loaded. Some of that is measured with cookies and some of it without. The section on cookies and measurement below says exactly which is which.
If you email us directly or connect with us on LinkedIn instead, we hold whatever you chose to send, on the same terms.
What this site does not do
We think this section matters more than the one above it, so it is stated plainly rather than in the negative space of a longer document.
- There is no advertising pixel, no ad network, no remarketing tag, and no session recording on any page. Nothing here follows you to another website.
- Both typefaces and every image are served from our own domain, so the type and the pictures on this page tell nobody that you loaded them.
- We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we do not buy contact data about you from anyone else.
- We do not use what you send us to train machine learning models.
What this section no longer claims is that the site sets no cookies. Until September 2026 it set none, and this page said so in those words. That changed when we put measurement on the site, and the section below is the honest version.
If any of that changes, this section changes with it and the date at the top of this page moves.
Cookies and measurement
Two different things measure this site, and they are worth separating because only one of them sets cookies.
The first is HubSpot. Its tracking script runs on every page and records which pages a browser opened and when, so that when somebody eventually writes to us we can see what they had been reading. It sets four cookies:
- hubspotutk, which identifies your browser to HubSpot and is what ties a later form submission to the pages already read.
- __hstc, which records when you first arrived, when you last arrived, and how many visits you have made.
- __hssc, which records whether this is a new session. It expires after thirty minutes without activity.
- __hssrc, which records whether you restarted your browser. It is cleared when you close it.
The first two persist between visits, for months rather than days. HubSpot sets that period, not us.
The second is Vercel, who host this site. Vercel Web Analytics counts page views and Vercel Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load and respond. Neither sets a cookie, neither builds a profile of you, and both are served from this domain rather than somebody else’s, so they cannot see you anywhere but here.
You can refuse all of it. Blocking cookies for this site in your browser, or blocking the HubSpot script in any content blocker, stops the tracking and breaks nothing else: the pages still work and the contact form still reaches us. It just arrives without the reading history attached.
What happens when you use the contact form
The form is ours — our page, our fields, our validation — and it submits to HubSpot, the customer relationship system we use to keep track of conversations. HubSpot processes the submission on our behalf.
Alongside the four fields you filled in, the submission carries the address and title of the page you submitted from, and the identifier from the hubspotutk cookie described above, so that HubSpot files your message against the pages you had already read instead of creating a second record. If you have blocked that cookie, the submission still reaches us; it just arrives without that history.
If our HubSpot connection is not configured, the form falls back to opening your own email client with the message ready to send. In that case nothing reaches us until you press send yourself, and no third party is involved at all.
Why we use it
To reply to you, to keep a record of the conversation so that the next person who picks it up knows what was already said, to run and secure this website, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, our lawful basis for handling a business enquiry is our legitimate interest in responding to people who ask us to, and in keeping a record of it. Where we rely on consent — for anything we send you that is not a reply to your own message — you can withdraw it at any time.
Who else sees it
- HubSpot, Inc., which hosts our customer relationship records, receives contact form submissions, and runs the page tracking described above.
- Vercel Inc., which hosts this website and provides the cookieless page-view and performance measurement described above.
- Our email provider, in the ordinary course of carrying our mail.
- Our professional advisers, and anyone we are legally required to disclose to.
Each of these acts on our instructions or under its own legal obligations. None of them is given your information to use for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Server logs are short-lived and are kept only as long as our hosting provider retains them in the ordinary course.
The cookies listed above expire on the schedule given there, and you can delete them from your browser yourself at any time.
An enquiry is kept for as long as the conversation is live and afterwards as a record of who approached us and about what, unless you ask us to delete it. Ask, and we will.
Where it is processed
We are a United States company and our providers process this information in the United States. If you contact us from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, your information is transferred there, protected by the standard contractual clauses or another approved transfer mechanism in our agreements with those providers.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@purveyorsports.com and we will handle it. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to object to or restrict our use of your information, the right to receive it in a portable form, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
If you are in California, you have the right to know what we collect and why, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing here to opt out of.
Children
This is a business-to-business website and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will remove it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS and the systems we keep enquiries in are access-controlled. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so please do not send us anything genuinely confidential through a web form — tell us it exists and we will find a better channel for it.
Links to other sites
This site links out to our clients’ own websites and to our LinkedIn page. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, under their privacy policy, and we have no control over what they collect.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we replace it here and move the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects people who have already contacted us, we will tell them directly.
